TAKING VENICE uncovers the true story behind rumors that the U.S. government and a team of high-placed insiders rigged the 1964 Venice Biennale β the Olympics of artβ so their chosen artist, Robert Rauschenberg, could win the Grand Prize.
I collaborated on Taking Venice as Archival Producer for Italy.
I conducted extensive research, eventually closing deals with RAI and the Venice Biennale Archive, along with several smaller / privately owned archives.
My role was pivotal in both locating and selecting the best material for the film, as well as navigating the bureaucracy, submitting requests, and finalizing contracts.
I also built a workflow in Airtable for logging found archival material and its metadata, which became an essential tool for editing, budgeting, creating executive summaries, and managing/tracking orders.
